Whether court ordered, attorney referred or client referred, the intake and scheduling process at the DRC is the same.  

A court order is not required to use the Fort Bend County DRC services.  The DRC can be used for party or attorney initiated family mediation at a sliding scale cost per party, and civil mediations, generally at a lower cost than a private mediator.

A party, or attorney on behalf of a party, must complete the mediation intake form, including contact information for all parties, and their attorney (if applicable), and provide the financial information statement and proof of income documents.  The quickest way to get your mediation assigned and scheduled is to download one of the intake forms above and return it to the DRC along with the identified financial information, via email at fortbenddrc@aol.com or you can mail your intake form to us at 211 Houston Street, Richmond, TX 77469. 

Please note that our mediation's begin at 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. and may last up to four (4) hours.   Family mediation's are not scheduled until we receive each party's intake form and income verification documents.  Before submitting a civil mediation intake, please call the DRC at (281) 342-5000 to obtain date availability so that may place that date on your intake form.

FAMILY MEDIATION

To start the mediation process a completed intake form, financial information statement and proof of income documents must be submitted by each party.  The referenced documents are still required to be submitted with a court order for mediation.  Once we receive your completed forms and proof of income documentation available dates and times can then be provided for presentment and agreement to all mediation participants.

CIVIL MEDIATION

To start the mediation process a completed intake form must be provided to the DRC, along with any Order of Referral to Mediation (if the Court has issued an Order).  Dates will then be provided by the DRC for presentment and agreement to all mediation participants.
